Welcome to the Finance Recap of 2024! The Lord blessed us with a sweet year of so many good things to report. We’re excited to share the highlights with you as well as invite you our AGM on June 01 to hear more details of this report and much more that God is doing in our church!
New this year we’re introducing a “new/old” way of presenting the expenses of our Primary and Missions Funds: a snapshot by ‘zones’. Having showcased this same style years ago, this visual breakdown will help you see the various areas of our ministry and how our expenses have been distributed.
PRIMARY FUND -- (General Fund)
The end of 2023 marked a shift towards strong and faithful giving which continued into 2024. This growth reflected an increase in Sunday attendance and participation in our weekly Bible studies.
Donations (Growth):
• Up 5.8% from 2023
• Up 4.2% from pre-COVID levels (2019)
Our 2024 budget prioritized rebuilding our Emergency Fund, which had been moderately depleted during the 3-year impact from 2020. Thanks to increased giving in both 2023 and 2024, we accomplished that rebuilding in two years what we thought would take three—another example of God’s faithful provision!
We were also blessed in 2024 to receive funding through Canada Summer Jobs, allowing us to hire four full-time summer students working in areas like Young Adults, Children's Ministry, and Facilities. We were so blessed with excellent workers throughout the summer.
MISSIONS FUND
Our Missions Fund continues to support our long-term Missions Partners and local outreach initiatives.
With the desire in our church to uphold our children, youth, and young adults, we have advanced those goals by engaging in the first year of supporting our new Outreach Leadership Program which supports our young people engaging in leadership out at Whispering Pines Camp. The letters and testimonies we received from them were filled with encouragement and stories of how God was working in their lives and through their service.
We are excited to continue developing and investing in the next generation of leaders in our community.
Community Care Fund
(Subcategory of Missions – Benevolence)
An ever-loved portion of the Missions Fund, our Community Care focuses on our Furniture Ministry, as well as Palliative gift-bags, and small community benevolence as needed.
Our Furniture Ministry is very popular and there is always more need in our city than we can provide… but we feel so honored to be able to assist our community how we can in this very practical way.
With the generous support of our donors, the Furniture-Team made over 350 stops during year, connecting with those offering or receiving items, and blessing countless people along the way.
Your donations showed God’s love to many people who have never stepped foot in a church and were very grateful for the help!
CAPITAL FUND
This year, we launched the WELCOME HOME campaign, and it was very well received! Our church family is honouring the gift of this church building from the Lord and how we are to maintain it for the future.
Though one major project was canceled after thorough consideration, we were able to complete a much-needed eaves replacement on the building. We continued to save for future projects which includes a renovation to the bathrooms beside the Hub 1 (the coffee house) in 2025.
As always, we monitor our Capital projects each year and prioritize those that no longer can be pushed aside.
Just like in any home, we dream, plan, save, and adjust when unexpected repairs arise!
But through it all we pray that God leads and guides our decisions for this incredible building we get to call home.
