Technical Arts

I like the name Technical Arts  because what we do as Tech People is more then just pushing buttons.   Using the talents that God has given us in a creative and meaningful way to help people worship God is beautiful.  The way that lighting can change the mood of a room and diminish distractions.  How good audio allows us to enjoy music and connects us to the Pastors sermon.  How meaningful videos, pictures and words can add clarity and power to a service.  What we do in the Technical Arts is not about being perfect and putting on a good show but using the senses and talents that God blessed us with in worship.

If  you are the person that sees or hears when "Tech Stuff" makes a positive or a negative difference in a service, then maybe you should consider being in the Technical Arts.  There is more to it than just running sound or computer.   Hillcrest would like to expand and do more in the video area but we need to start training and equipping people who enjoy doing things like:

• Video Camera Operators
• Video Switcher Operators
• Video Editing
• Directing or Producing videos
